An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
